I put cheese on a burger in the last minute of grilling.
If it's a bacon cheeseburger,... I'll put the bacon on the burger and the cheese over it.  Keeps the bacon in place.
Unlike GrillMaster Chuck Schumer who puts the cheese on the raw burger and then grills it.   What a phony P.O.S.
