Securing $XX million for New Mexico’s bases sounds noble until you see the NDAA’s $XXXXX billion price tag. Rep. Vasquez’s bill includes $38.5M for WSMR’s power grid, $83M for Kirtland’s Space HQ, and $1.55B for Los Alamos plutonium ops—massive sums that demand ruthless accountability. Meanwhile, $18.5M went to renovating 1997-era Pershing Park housing at Kirtland.

Military readiness? Critical. But when D.C. throws $300M at Ukraine aid and $2M at National Guard traffic control in Albuquerque, it’s clear priorities are fractured.
