Everyone I asked for solution kept saying the same thing: “Bitcoin cannot do that, You’ll need to wrap your BTC and use Ethereum.” “Or go with a centralized escrow.” That’s when I realized something: Bitcoin is strong, but it can’t handle basic conditions or logic like this. There’s no smart contracts, no refunds based on goals, and no way to automate these things without leaving Bitcoin. I didn’t want to trust another chain or give up security… So I had to drop the whole project. But if @GOATRollup existed back then, everything would’ve been different. GOAT uses BitVM2 and zkMIPS, which lets you run smart contracts off-chain and prove the results on Bitcoin securely and trustlessly. So that same logic I needed? I could’ve written it with GOAT. No wrapping, no middlemen, and no leaving the Bitcoin network. It would’ve run on GOAT’s Layer X and settled back to Bitcoin, fully verified and transparent. I didn’t need a new blockchain. I just needed a smarter way to use Bitcoin. That’s what GOAT gives us. Bitcoin that can actually do things. I missed that chance once. I’m not missing it again. How Bitcoin Let Me Down, And How @GOATRollup Would’ve Had My Back
I tried to launch a simple crowdfunding campaign for a friend’s community project.
