🚨 Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, head of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, has lost a third of his body weight in Israeli detention — surviving on just two spoonfuls of rice a day, according to his lawyer.

She was recently granted access to see him at Ofer prison and reports:

▪️ Repeatedly assaulted: Dr. Safiya has reportedly been severely beaten at least six times. On June XX — the day of Iran’s strike on Soroka Hospital in Israel — prison guards raided his cell and beat him, leaving bruises on his head, neck, and back. His request for medical treatment was denied.

▪️ Inhumane Conditions:
Held underground without access to clean clothes, showers, or medical care. “Scabies is rampant,” his lawyer said. “They only get medical attention when they’re on the verge of death.”

▪️ One of over XXX detained medics:
Physicians for Human Rights Israel says over XXX Palestinian medical workers have been detained since October — more than XXX remain jailed, vast majority without charge.

🩺 Dr. Abu Safiya was last seen in his white coat walking through rubble toward an Israeli tank.
