Crowsnest’s Limitations

22/25 Crowsnest’s TWT-based radar struggles against modern active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs) like those in the Boeing E-7 Wedgetail. AESAs offer superior beam steering and jamming resistance, rendering Crowsnest a stopgap solution with outdated technology. 

It is noted that the Crowsnest competition had a legacy radar (Seachwater) against a new AESA radar  (a derivative of the APG-81), the same AESA radar as F-35B).

Which one seemed more logical 🤷🏻‍♂️
