why getting @anoma invite codes may be next to impossible right now - the succinct effect

here’s why following the succinct gated testnet move might be the wrong for anoma👇

first, let’s do some maths

initial invite codes were given to top XXX yappers

each of this yappers get X codes daily which started yesterday

so that’s ~ XXX codes

so far lets say team has given out - XXX codes on X

that’s another XXX codes and these early users must have gotten X codes by now as well

that another ~700 codes

so total codes ~ 1400

note: late users that got referred by early user don’t get codes, hence there’s no pyramid effect, else there would be more code in circulation but now

anoma team noted that they want to keep the testnet limited, though no exact number of participants was started as cap

they also mentioned the testnet would never be fully open to public

- the succinct effect

even though codes are limited, not everyone that gets a codes daily shares it on CT

reasons?

it’s either they are using the codes for their alts or

there are sharing it with there friends which is totally fine imo

this implies only a small percentage of early users are sharing their codes via raffles on CT

some may be hoarding it and hoping to sell it because they believe it would be worth something in future just like succinct codes

these are some issues with gated access testnets that anoma team probably didn’t envision ahead of time

and it’s kinda tricky to mitigate because people will only share their codes with who they want: family > friends > acquaintances > strangers on X

solution:

anoma team needs to do more unbiased code distribution by themselves, by organizing direct code giveaways, where influencers organize giveaways and team send codes directly to the winners

the winners needs to screened to ensure they are not affiliated with the influencer or alt accounts

this is what succinct did, and this is why they remain the GOAT testnet

what do you think?
