It's the third law of motion that states that, 'for every action, there must be an equal and opposite reaction.

So, since there is front-end development, there must be back-end development, right?

Back-end development, unlike front-end, is the process of building the 'behind-the-scenes' (invisible parts) of websites or applications.

Back end is actually what makes the website work.  

Just like in a house, where we have the foundation, electrical wiring, water system and security system.

You don't see these things when you visit a house, right?

But without them the house can't actually function.

Who then is a back-end developer?

         A back-end developer is someone who builds and maintains the behind-the-scenes logic, database, server and infrastructure that power a website or application.
