I had high hopes for Sonic, expecting it to mirror the early days of @HyperliquidX. But after the recent airdrop, I, along with other Sonic OGs, can't help but wonder: why does this comeback feel so rushed and shaky? Sonic once had breakout moments with projects like @ShadowOnSonic and @derpedewdz . But the opportunity not for everyone Most projects still rely heavily on the foundation for survival, with little to no scaling beyond their initial hype. Even top collections like Derp, which boast some of the most loyal holders in the NFT space, haven’t been able to expand or collaborate cross-chain. Meanwhile, early-backed names like @abysscards haven’t shown meaningful progress post-launch The root of the issue? As @zethesx mentioned — we simply don’t have enough real users to sustain and grow the ecosystem ---- Community concerns... ◽️ The Airdrop — Bittersweet Honestly, this one caught many off guard. Some top OGs like @DoctorDeFi @rektmillionaire @lymbothecat, etc who’ve been active for a long time. didn’t even qualify ◽️ Community Handling Needs Work The CN community felt mishandled The KR event also received mixed feedback ◽️ Underrated Gems Still in the Dark Take Derp for example, one of the strongest, most loyal NFT communities in the ecosystem. Solid holders. Great vibes. But they’ve had zero push or spotlight, especially beyond the chain. As someone who focuses on NFTs, I can say: Not many people know about them, and that’s a missed opportunity ---- ➥ Still, if you're thinking of exiting. maybe take a breath We’re still seeing actions from @SonicLabs 🟢 Listings on major exchanges 🟢 @KaitoAI pushing content 🟢 RWA integrations 🟢 Creator programs 🟢 Local community efforts.
