🎥 “Europe will never punish its favorite child,” Middle East analyst and co-editor of Jadaliyya, Mouin Rabbani, told Drop Site’s Sharif Abdel Kouddous during this morning’s livestream.

He said the new statement by XX mostly European governments mouthing support for an end to the “war” on Gaza was a “meaningless” distraction:

“This was a deliberate statement to divert attention from their refusal to take any meaningful action to achieve the objectives they lay out. They have all the leverage they need, all the means they need to more or less instantaneously bring about the objectives they claim they’re seeking to achieve. But they have made a deliberate policy choice not to do so.”

“For all his faults,” he added, “the Trump administration at least has the decency and the honesty not to pretend to care.”
