The Epstein files were likely tainted with recently inserted bogus Trump connections. After investigations into Comey/Brennan were announced on 7/9 they released the birthday letter to the the WSJ to get the ball rolling. If damning information had been in those files, it would have been leveraged by Biden during the election.
