In Delhi NCR, in the last one year alone, students have missed 30–40 school days because of climate stressors like extreme heat, heavy rain, and polluted air —affecting more than just their academics.
A new UNESCO report finds that exposure to extreme temperatures in early childhood can cost children across the world, up to XXX years of schooling due to climate-related closures.
“Children are not mini adults. Their systems are still developing, and early exposure to extreme heat, pollution, and allergens can have long-term consequences," says Dr Poonam Sidana.
