A good thought to check. I am not sure what data you are looking at, however $GOOGL has outperformed $QQQ since January 1, 2007. That being said, QQQ is a phenomenal index ETF, beautifully capturing momentum and trends with its rebalancing and reconstitution. It is anything but passive.
