😬🇪🇸 The Spanish FA want to modernise refereeing through AI and have appointed Chema Alonso, a cybersecurity expert, to the Technical Refereeing Committee.

This has caused huge controversy in Spain as Alonso has repeatedly shown his support for Real Madrid on his own Instagram account... 🙄

According to MARCA, his role will not allow him to intervene in VAR decisions or in the appointment of referees... but he will play a key role as an advisor on the AI tools to be developed for refereeing in Spain. 👀
