Scott Bessent describing Donald Trump as "a high functioning executive President" and "economically sophisticated" is a joke.  Trump says foreign countries pay tariffs, doesn't know raising taxes (tariffs are taxes) is recessionary and inflationary and doesn't understand comparative advantage.  Trump attended Wharton undergrad as a transfer student from Fordham.  A prof described Trump as his "worst student."  Trump, 79, is in an age group where the mean WAIS-IV IQ before age norming is XX.  XX is considered borderline or borderline low.
