Since Trump took office, some numbers show inflation close to X% and modest increases in real wages, but new tariffs and policy changes have also made things more expensive for a lot of families. 

Experts estimate the average US household is now paying about $XXXXX more per year because of tariffs, and some say families could see overall costs rise by up to $XXXXX a year due to higher prices on everything from food and cars to toys and housing. 

So, while some bills are getting better, a lot of things families need are costing more—meaning everyday life for most people hasn’t exactly gotten cheaper.
