There's a story about two men in my hometown several decades ago.

Let's call them Mr A and Mr B.

Y'all know the saying 'eni je igun ki i kadun'?

Mr A had been eating igun (vulture) for years but whenever people ask him out of suspicion he'd insist he ate chicken.

Mr B was certain that Mr A was eating vulture and not chicken as he claimed and he was surprised that Mr A is still hale and hearty decades later, he then decided that the saying was just a useless superstition.

So one day after eating chicken, Mr B publicly declared he had just finished eating vulture.

Mr B died of mysterious sickness that same month.

They then concluded the matter with the saying 'enu araye lebo'.
