These efforts recently led to the closure of two meat grilling shops after inspectors found violations that threatened consumer health and safety. The operations, conducted last weekend, resulted in one establishment on Martil's main street being shut down when inspections revealed quantities of spoiled and unfit-for-consumption meat. Another shop, located on "Bayt Al Atiq" street, was also closed. There, authorities found quantities of expired food products alongside a large amount of used cooking oil that was being prepared for resale to unlicensed vendors and unpermitted food carts. Jalal Belaafia, a local vacationer, commended these efforts. He noted that disturbing images circulating online have negatively affected the reputation of northern tourist destinations, visible in the reduced number of visitors compared to past seasons. Belaafia told Hespress that "the greed and indifference of some restaurant owners put citizens' health at risk." He added that these campaigns have also highlighted the health threats associated with "street food," revealing that a significant portion of the seized items, especially the used oils and spoiled meat, were destined to be consumed by Moroccans as "real poisons." #Morocco #Martil #Restaurant #Food #Summer #CMO #HespressEng XX engagements **Related Topics** [grilling](/topic/grilling) [Post Link](https://x.com/HespressEnglish/status/1947607591971889593)
