Solana is generally considered faster in raw transaction speed, with theoretical max TPS (transactions per second) much higher than Hedera, and it focuses heavily on scalability and low latency for DeFi and consumer dApps. Hedera, while offering lower TPS (about XXXXXX consistently), prioritizes enterprise use with its hashgraph consensus—delivering strong security (asynchronous BFT), predictable low fees, energy efficiency, and a governance model that major global corporations back. There’s interest from institutions in Hedera mainly because of its robust governance, predictable costs, and security, but Solana is currently better known in the broader crypto developer and DeFi spaces. It's not clear-cut that institutions will choose HBAR over SOL, but Hedera's quantum-resistant tech, council governance, and enterprise partnerships definitely make it a strong contender in that segment.
