The whole "shellfish is just underwater bugs" angle fails to account for the fact that culinary shellfish are big and meaty for arthropods. If the "eat ze bugs" marketing types sold Hercules beetles or scorpions it might have taken off. Also, they're underwater spiders, not bugs
