Picture the following...

You bought : 
- XXX $SOL / $XXX per SOL = $XXXXXX = XXXXXXX BTC 
- XXX BTC / $XXXXXXX per BTC = $XXXXXX  

[Total USD value: $33,050]
[Total BTC value: XXXXXXX BTC]  

Now let's say you sold: 
- XXX SOL at $XXX = $XXXXXX 
- XXX BTC at  $XXXXXXX = $XXXXXX  

Total at exit:
- USD value: $XXXXXX
- BTC value: XXXXXXX BTC

Summary: 
- USD profit: +$3,050 
- BTC loss: -XXXXXXX BTC (–0.68%)

Was it a good trade?

A rising USD balance can deceive - if it shrinks in BTC terms, you're losing. 

In a BTC bull market, altcoins must dramatically outperform just to keep up. If they don’t, your BTC position is diluted, even as your dollar gains grow.
