Foreign-funded NGOs sparked violent protests, shutting the Sterlite copper plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, leaving XXXXXX jobless and XXX MSMEs closed.
 India, once a copper exporter, now relies on imports, benefitting China and Pakistan. 

Locals are openly demanding its reopening — not for profit, but for survival.
