Laurie Whitwell with a great retelling of the Bryan Mbeumo transfer, explaining the pivot to him following missing the market opportunity for Liam Delap. How Mbeumo's preference was Manchester United, his salary comfortably in line within their wage structure. 

The Tottenham 'bid' to Brentford & the 2nd bid was believed to have a good chance to be accepted. Following the rejection, Mbeumo told them he only wanted United, despite Brentford pressuring him to accept moves to Newcastle & Tottenham.

United felt not letting him leave would undermine their transfer model & remained patient. Mbeumo said when he returned to training that he wanted to leave.

Patience paid off, at the cost of a few days of training & a larger guaranteed fee, but spread over four years. The people saying this the whole way were proved right.
