The Nationals rank as the 9th highest whiff-rate in the MLB since June 1st against high-velo Sliders (87+ mph). If we add in 2600+ Spin Rate, they climb to the 2nd highest Whiff-Rate on the season. The High-velo fastballs are something they have ranked well against, however, they have been switching around the bottom of the lineup lately. And X of those newer additions are very favorable targets for this pitch: Brady House: XXXX% Whiff Rate Riley Adams: XX% Whiff Rate The Nationals matchup is normally a tough one, but with pitchers that have similar arsenals to Burns, we see great results. Examples of this during this season have been Greene with 12, Cease with XX and DeGrom with X. Outside of the matchup, a line like this is just not right for a player like Burns. For example, RHPs with similar Pitching+ Ratings (Location+ and Stuff+ Ratings combined, stat made by Fangraphs) that use the fastball and Slider include Wheeler, DeGrom, Greene and Skenes.
