The June 2025 missile war between Israel and Iran and threats to shut the Strait of Hormuz adversely affected sales of shipping fuel at the Port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.

The emirate of Fujairah, located on the east coast of the UAE near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz, is a main refuelling point for oil and product tankers exiting the Persian Gulf and embarking on long voyages to deliver their cargoes.

The main months of tension in the Strait of Hormuz were May and June and bunkering sales dropped on a monthly basis by X percent to XXXXXXX tons and XXXXXXX tons respectively.

 Data from the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone in the UAE showed January-June 2025 bunkering sales down X percent overall to XXX cubic metres compared with XXX million cubic metres in the same six-month period last year.
