They were pro-Bashar before 2011, jumped ship when the revolution gained momentum, "reconciled" when it suited them mid-war, and now, with Syria’s liberation, they claim to be pro-Shara. In reality, they’re not “pro” anything. They’re pro-winner. They fight not for nation, principle, or justice—but for position, profit, and survival. It is precisely these kinds of mercenaries in tribal clothing who commit war crimes. Because unlike the disciplined fighters of the revolution, they have no values. No doctrine. No line they won’t cross. They are the political prostitutes of the region—switching allegiance at the scent of power, and committing atrocities under whichever flag offers them cover.
