🚨🇺🇸 MLK FILES: TIPSTER CLAIMED MLK KILLERS FOUND REFUGE IN HONDURAS

A 1968 U.S. State Department cable reported a tip that Martin Luther King's assassins may have found shelter at a farm in Honduras, owned by a man named Lewis Weir.

The telegram, sent from the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa to Washington, noted that Weir, believed to be an American citizen, allegedly told others the murderers of civil rights workers in Mississippi had stayed with him. He added that anyone facing similar difficulties would be welcome.

The cable acknowledged uncertainty about Weir’s identity and spelling of his name, and stated there was no record of him at either the embassy or the consulate.
