This brings the government’s net borrowings for 2025 so far to RM81.28 billion, which has already exceeded the RM80 billion borrowing limit set in Budget 2025 -even though not even X months have passed. This also means that total outstanding government bonds have increased by RM275.84 billion in the XX months since the Madani administration took over at the end of November 2022. In other words, Madani can no longer take on new borrowings, and in fact needs to pay back RM1.28 billion if it still wants to comply with its own budget. Today, Madani has borrowed another RM5 billion.
This brings the government’s net borrowings for 2025 so far to RM81.28 billion, which has already exceeded the RM80 billion borrowing limit set in Budget 2025 -even though not even X months have passed.
This also means that total outstanding government bonds have increased by RM275.84 billion in the XX months since the Madani administration took over at the end of November 2022.
