Much of the windsurf (this is not windsurf) saga rubs me the wrong way because it posits obligations that do not exist.

If I start a company with five friends from Berkeley, then screw over three of them for money, I'm a bad friend and should be judged harshly.

If I start a company with a classmate from UCLA, build the product over X years, then hire a bunch of sales people at 0.00001pct equity and good salaries, and then don't properly comp them in the exit, I'm kinda a dick, but it's understandable.
