1971 Nixon where the white house pressured the Fed. CPI back then was 4%. CPI is now sticky above X% (also calculations changed, it's probably worse)

Fed got pressured to cut rates early
and it ended with 10-year Treasuries yielding double digits and Paul Volcker with a machete

Now we see the same tension between Trump and Powell to cut rates prematurely
