Musical taste by SAT score.

Much of this is unsurprising — smart people like Beethoven, Radiohead and Sufjan Stevens, while the less bright prefer Nickelback and Beyonce — but some of it is puzzling, like smart people liking Counting Crows.

While the way most of the artists line up makes a certain amount of sense, the SAT scores for whole genres makes little. The two genres that I've observed having the smartest listeners (classical and jazz) rank fairly low on the SAT scale here. I think this is because too many people think jazz includes "smooth jazz" and other "jazzy" abominations and too many people think any orchestral music is "classical". (In my experience, the people who like post-bop jazz are the smartest cohort of musical listeners.)
