“Major AI companies want reasoning models to stay open so we can see how they think.”

We asked @HarperSCarroll about recent developments in AI reasoning models.

"There was research from @AnthropicAI that said that reasoning models are not necessarily showing us what we think they're thinking."

"For example, Anthropic gave a reasoning model a question, and it kept getting it wrong. With a hint, it got it right, but in its reasoning, there was no trace of the hint."
