🚨🇺🇸MLK FILES: DOJ PRESSED CIA TO RELEASE FILES ON CUBAN HIJACKER TIED TO MLK PROBE

In 1977, the Department of Justice wrote to CIA Director Stansfield Turner, asking for permission to declassify a 1961 FBI report on Antulio Ortiz Ramirez  -  a Cuban hijacker whose files were requested by the House committee investigating the assassinations of MLK and JFK.

Ramirez hijacked a National Airlines flight to Cuba in 1961 and was arrested XX years later after arriving in Miami from Jamaica. He admitted guilt and was sentenced to XX years for kidnapping.

The file the DOJ wanted to release was marked “Secret” and labeled “Internal Security  -  Cuba.”

 Before releasing it to Congress, they needed CIA clearance to determine whether it still warranted classification .
