“The programmable ZK settlement layer.”

It’s a small sentence, but it says a lot about what Union is really trying to build.

Most chains today either settle transactions or let you write smart contracts. Some use ZK for scaling or privacy. But what if ZK itself became the foundation for coordination? That’s what Union is going for.

Programmable means you’re not locked into predefined rules — you can define your own logic. ZK means that logic can be proven without needing to reveal all the data. And settlement layer? That’s where all the final truth lives.

Union is trying to combine all three. Not just for scaling or efficiency, but to make onchain systems more trustless and flexible. You could write rules for DAOs, identity, governance, or even social apps — and they’ll be enforced at the proof level, not just at the app layer.

It’s a totally different way of thinking about building systems. One where trust comes from math, not multisigs. Where coordination becomes something you can prove, not just agree on.

The phrase might sound technical, but the vision behind it is actually pretty simple:

Make the most important parts of the internet trustless, programmable, and verifiable from the ground up.
