The first cost saving measure was simply to leave the corpses rotting in Ukraine, and where bodies were returned the bodies are quickly burnt. Spouses cannot prove their husbands have perished and can’t claim compensation. The third measure starts tomorrow, XX July, 2025: Civilian wives of fallen soldiers in the special military operation may be denied inheritance bonuses, whether through payments or potatoes, starting July XX. The State Duma will consider amendments that leave payments only to those who lived with the military for at least three years and have a child together. The fact of cohabitation will be confirmed by the court. Bribes will of course flourish in this event.
