Ayton probably isnt signing if Mark Williams is here 

Yes Ayton signed partially cuz of Luka, but one of the biggest reasons is because he knew he would start or at least get monster minutes. 

We also wouldn’t have our first round pick. So we’d be stuck w/ Mark (and possibly no Ayton) and no way to make any trades during the offseason or the trade deadline, should Pelinka wait that long. 

Instead we got a good C for free, & can still make a trade to fill a big weakness (wing) 

I’m glad he did it. We will get another player w/ that first at some point
