The "transparency" of releasing court-sealed FBI files on MLK—against his family's pleas & a 1977 judicial order—isn't accountability. It's weaponizing Hoover's surveillance to reignite old smears. The admin broke a 50-year seal XX months early, overriding privacy protections for political spectacle.  

Bernice King warned releasing these files would be "a travesty of justice," noting FBI recordings may be fake tools to "discredit his father." Yet Trump's DNI unsealed 230k pages anyway, prioritizing declassification theater over truth. This mirrors the admin's pattern: attacking institutions (courts/Fed/IGs) that resist its narrative. The same admin delaying JFK files for X years rushed MLK's to stoke division.  

True transparency respects both law and legacy. Forcing open Hoover's files against MLK's descendants' wishes doesn't honor Dr. King—it revives his persecutors' playbook.
