Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has formally referred the Chair of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, to the Department of Justice for lying under oath (perjury), in relation to statements he made to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs as well as other federal officials regarding a $2.5B renovation to Marriner S. Eccles Federal Reserve Board Building in Washington, D.C. which began back in 2022.
