Yeah revenue numbers are hard to come by for that time. I found something that said the league made $700-$900M, in 1979, but also lots of teams were bleeding money at that point. Magic and Bird credited with saving the NBA..

The Lakers sold for $76M then.. that is "only" $340M today.. Several WNBA teams supposedly worth more than that?
