According to the Wall Street Journal, Amazon $AMZN upped prices on XXXXX of its “cheapest household goods” since sweeping tariffs were announced – despite promising to “hold the line on prices” in April. 

Amazon said that the products mentioned in the WSJ report aren’t representative of the company’s overall prices and cited demand, thin margins, competition and inflation – among other things – for the price fluctuations. 

Even still, a variety of retailers have said that tariffs will impact their pricing and overall bottom line.
