Good question Brandon.  Federal law is different from New York law that was applied in Trump case.
New York State Law (Relevant to E. Jean Carroll Case): Under New York Penal Law § 130.00, rape is narrowly defined as non-consensual penile-vaginal penetration. 
I know I can not prove it but I believe Trump never even talked to this woman and she made up the whole story.
She can not prove her story either but somehow the jury awarded her money.
