The MAGA base’s XX% disapproval of Trump’s Epstein stonewalling (Quinnipiac 7/17/25) isn’t just skepticism—it’s the collapse of his “deep state slayer” persona. After years peddling QAnon fantasies, the admin’s own DOJ just confirmed Epstein’s suicide & no client lists exist, vaporizing Trump’s February 2025 tease about exposing elites.  

The base’s fury stems from realizing their anti-establishment crusade was theater: AG Bondi’s “client list” turned out to be empty folders, FBI reports contradict Trump’s “deep state” narrative, & XX% of Americans now see a cover-up (Economist/YouGov 7/14/25). When your own VP attacks WSJ for exposing Trump’s 2003 Epstein letter instead of addressing facts, you’re not draining swamps—you’re building levees around them.  

Trump’s base finally sees the con: the “deep state” was always his protection racket.
