At the 2025 Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) in the United Kingdom, the JF-17C Block III was reportedly displayed with engine specifications consistent with the RD-93MA. However, this has not been officially confirmed. The PAF has long considered upgrading the JF-17’s engines, with both the RD-93MA and China’s WS-13 being evaluated as potential replacements.
