They currently have a XX% chance to make the playoffs. As Reds fans, I understand we have been desperate to get back to the playoffs. But I have a question. If the Reds were to "go all in" and buy this season and get rid of a ton of their prospects, what happens if they miss the playoffs? Then, they not only miss the playoffs this year, but they just got rid of their best prospects and now it's going to be harder to win in the future. I understand it's not fun to think about next year, but if small market teams want to have sustainable success, you have to think about the future. Look at the Brewers for example. So if you're part of the "nobody in untouchable" crowd and "buy buy buy" crowd for this season, I am genuinely curious what your thoughts are if the Reds were to take that approach and miss the playoffs this year.
