Even in your disprivilege, education gives you leverage. It teaches you how to think, how to know your options and weigh it, how to make better decisions, and opens you to opportunities. We are too poor as a people, and we cannot break the cycle of poverty without giving the children of the poor some education. It ends with one generation. We need a mental shift that helps people understand that everyone deserves the basic and that what we call luxury are basics that are supposed to be within the reach of all. I do not want a reality where the children of the poor continue the cycle of poverty and serve the same people their parents served. It has to end somewhere, and it begins with education and a viable economy for them to put their knowledge and expertise to good use. I do not derive any joy is seeing people poor and deprived. It rips my guts to see kids deprived of education. Without education, a lot has been stolen from you. You cannot build any society without an educated populace. We will fix it.
