The goal is to grow it into what it is today. The NBA had XX teams in 1979, XX years in.. Had been through the merger and Jerry Buss bought the Lakers for $67.5M (roughly $325M in today's dollars).. The comparison to that time period for the NBA is an apt one... 

I think if the players and the league can navigate this time period well, they are sitting on a goldmine...
