SEC Chair: It’s "Encouraging" to See Public Companies Adopt Bitcoin as Treasury Reserve Asset

Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (@SECGov), stated that it is “encouraging” to see more public companies adopting Bitcoin and other crypto assets as treasury reserve assets. He noted that while volatility remains, market acceptance of digital assets is driving further development and innovation.

Atkins also emphasized that companies should determine their own asset allocation strategies. He acknowledged the informal stance that Ethereum is not considered a security, suggesting a supportive attitude toward more firms following the “MicroStrategy model.”
