How Competitive is a Leaderboard?

You could liken the leaderboards a little to football leagues and in this case, @infinex, @monad and @katana would be the Champions League. 

Here we have an average of between 400-600 smart followers for all the top XXX people on the leaderboard. 

This means that its MUCH harder for smaller accounts to get up to the top of those leaderboards.
