Anyway, just to tie it to the intended theme of the thread, I think it was quite predictable for the U.S. to double down on what it is comfortable with i.e. natural endowments (fossil fuels) …

… and push back from renewables (even though ironically U.S. is also relatively well-endowed with natural solar PV and wind potential).

And I think it’s a major strategic mistake in the long run.
