🦁🐯 A liger is born in Romania — a hybrid of a lion and a tigress

A rare predator was recently born at a private zoo in Romania — the offspring of a lion and a tigress. The cub, now two months old, has been named Goliath. According to zoo owner Soimaru Dorin Ioan, the liger is healthy, though his sister, born at the same time, did not survive.

Such hybrids are impossible in the wild, but in captivity, some breeders force animals to mate in order to produce so-called "unique" creatures.

😢 Experts at Big Cat Rescue warn that ligers are often born with congenital defects, suffer from shortened lifespans, and offer no value to species conservation. They are bred for entertainment and profit, not out of compassion or respect for nature.
