NEW: Family of man crushed by bulldozer during Atlanta homeless camp sweep sues the city

Cornelius Taylor, 46, was homeless and living in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood

On January 16, he was struck by an Atlanta Public Works truck clearing a homeless encampment on Old Wheat Street

Taylor was still inside his tent when it was bulldozed, according to attorneys representing his family

He suffered a fractured pelvis, lacerations to vital organs, and extensive internal bleeding

He was taken to the hospital by ambulance but later died from his injuries

The Fulton County medical examiner ruled the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the abdomen and pelvis

His death was ruled an accident
